Our commitment
Health PRTCL · Hyperbaric Medical Group aims for www.healthprtcl.com to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium. These guidelines support our obligations under the Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act and California’s Unruh Civil Rights Act, where they apply.
What we have done
- A “Skip to content” link, clear page landmarks (header, navigation, main content, footer) and one main heading per page, with headings in logical order.
- Full keyboard operation: the mobile menu keeps focus inside while open and closes with Esc; condition tabs work with the arrow keys; detail views have a reachable Back button; every control shows a visible focus outline.
- Text and controls checked for color contrast, with small blue text and buttons set in a slightly deeper blue to meet AA ratios.
- Text alternatives for meaningful images and diagrams; decorative photographs are hidden from screen readers.
- Motion you control: the scrolling ticker and rotating quotes can be paused, and parallax and animations are turned off when your device is set to reduce motion.
- English and Spanish versions of every page, with the page language announced correctly to assistive technology when you switch.
- Layouts that reflow down to 320 pixels wide and support browser zoom to 200% without sideways scrolling.
- Descriptive page titles, link text that makes sense on its own, and notices on links that open a new tab. There are no forms or time limits on the site.
How we test
We review the site with automated tools (axe-core) at desktop and mobile widths in both languages, followed by manual checks of keyboard navigation, focus order, zoom and reflow, and screen-reader labels. The site is designed to work with current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari, and with screen readers such as VoiceOver, NVDA and TalkBack.
Known limitations
- The clinic map is an illustration. The same information (our address, nearby landmarks and distances) is provided as text beside it, along with a link to directions.
- The oxygen diagram is simplified; its meaning is described in text, and the toggle above it announces changes.
- Some of our glass-style panels sit over photographs. We have tested their contrast, but very bright screens or high zoom may make some text harder to read. Your browser’s high-contrast or reader mode can help, and we are happy to send any content in another format.
- Linked third-party sites, such as Google Maps, are outside our control and may not meet the same standard.
Accessibility at the clinic
If you need an accommodation for your visit, please tell us when you call so we can prepare. Examples include help with transfers into and out of the chamber, a qualified sign-language or spoken-language interpreter, large-print or electronic documents, or extra time for your appointment. These services are free of charge. See our Nondiscrimination & Language Assistance notice for details.
